Lowell Blake is a unique investment management company. We strive to involve our clients in investment decisions and educate them in navigating the world of finance. Our investments are easy to understand -- if they are too complicated to explain, then they are too risky for us to invest our clients’ money. Unlike most of our peers, our investment research is independent and done in-house. In addition we have special project investments that we create and manage for our clients.
In recent years, investors have lost faith in investing in common stocks, as too many companies have taken advantage of accounting trickery, dormant boards, and short-sighted business plans to enrich their management at the expense of shareholders. Lowell Blake’s goal with the Honor Roll is to help rebuild the confidence of our clients by showing them that there are excellent, ethical companies that they can feel comfortable partnering with.
Developing the Honor Roll rests on deciding what constitutes excellence. What is important are characteristics relating to management’s ethics and passion, and a company’s impact on society, employees, and customers. While we may place a company on our Honor Roll we may not necessarily be purchasing it for clients due to valuation.
